Jonathan “Bionic” Bayani, with proficiencies in funk-styles (popping / boogaloo / locking) and rocking, is best described as one of the strongest and most versatile dancers in the hip hop dance scene. After winning the world championships, Battle of the Year 1998 in Germany – along with his former bboy crew, Rockforce – Bionic gained international acclaim and is now recognized as one of the world’s fiercest competitors in popping. This has allowed him to compete, teach, judge, and perform all over the US, France, England, Japan, Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Mexico, South Africa and even the French Caribbean. Bionic is featured in numerous streetdance videos that are distributed worldwide which have influenced generations of younger dancers. His experience has enabled him to work on theatrical shows, motion pictures, and modeling. He has also taught master classes all over the world. Bionic also cofound & works with California based popping crew Machine Gone Funk who have credits with Katy Perry’s “Hot n Cold”, Step Up3D, LXD to name a few. He also represents The EBFam(Electric Boogaloo Family) He was one of the few dancers from around the world selected by Red Bull to be a part of their Red Bull Beat Rider Program. Bionic Battled two times(2007&2011)in the Sony Ericson UK World Championships where 16 of the best poppers around the world compete against one another. Bionic also competed in R16 Korea representing the USA which almost like the Olympics of Street-dance. Bionic was also recently crowned the Popping World Champion at HipHop Internationa 2011l in Vegas. Bionic’s recent work includes a web commercial for the Sony Playstation 3 and also a commercial for Capitol One, Danced with the group Supreme Soul on MTV’s: Americas Best Dance Crew, & Bionic was casted as an Evil Robot in Season 3 of LXD (legion of Extraordinary Dancers). Bionic is constantly working to improve his skills and learn more about the history of his art form. Currently Bionic has taken up Muay Thai (Thai Kickboxing) as a new discipline for his exploration in fitness, health/well being, and new inspiration to keep his dancing strong. He also was currently signed to LA's Go 2 Talent Agency and is now managed by Movement Lifestyle where one of his main goals now is to take on the industry and make the most out of his talent. His other focus is to continue traveling the world and to motivate and inspire other dancers in order to elevate the dance scene.
